We mainly look for C++ programmers that can help us updating otserv trunk; people who can work on "data" (mostly LUA things) directory are also welcome though. How can you become an OTServ developer? Since wiki doesn't work i decided to put it here : 1.Download and install msvc 2010 http://www.microsoft.com/express/Downloads/#2010-Visual-CPP 2.Download latest trunk http://opentibia.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/opentibia/otserv/trunk/ if you don't know how follow: http://otfans.net/wiki/index.php/Download_OTServ_using_SVN wiki is down completly (no read access ) http://otfans.net/threads/170169-Compiling-Simple-OTServ-MSVC-2010-Compiling-the-Source?p=1497328&viewfull=1#post1497328 3.Open visual studio project it is located in sources/vc10/vc10.sln (project) 4.Download and unpack http://www.mediafire.com/?5uf7lnebabg6k0p those are additional libs to compile otserv(boost etc) 5.In msvc select Release option instead of Debug it is located in top center in the program. 6.Select otserv project in left side of visual studio then go to project > properties > C/C++ > general > additional include directories and there add "include" directory from where you unpacked additional libs. 7.In msvc Go to project > properties > linker > general > additional library directories and there add "libs" directory from where you unpacked additional libs. 8.Right click on otserv project in left side and choose rebuild project. 9.After some minutes otserv should be in yoursources/vc10/Release/otserv.exe 10.Copy it to some other dir along with config.lua.dist rename it to config.lua and otserv.pdb and dlls from the attachment.     Initial Doubts

    Well, I have a [8.6] OTserv tfs 0.3.6 and am trying to migrate to the tfs 0.4 svn. But like any beginner, whether here in the forum on OTServ or any other, I have some doubts. I've [8.60] OTServ (0.6.3) r.6052 the User Pietia10 posted. I set only config.lua for now and OTserv is running without errors. I noted some changes in files tfs 0.4. The config.lua is totally different from the old. Not have the folder /data/globalevents. Maybe she was replaced by another file. More files "dlls". Anyway. My question is: What files (Example: map.otbm, map-spawn.xml) my old release (0.3.6) that I put together with the new distribution (0.4)? Thanks!

    Debugging otserv with msvc :>

    Well I have tried to debug using msvc otserv but I failed well the error is : Error: Unable to load config.lua I'm 100 % sure that it executes from correct directory and there is correct config.lua and when I just click 2x on exe it executes otserv correctly but when in msvc I click on start debugging it fails at loading config.lua anybody have resolved it ?:F

    OTserv: Networking/Wireless

    Hey ya'll Im trying to host a simple server for some friends and me thru Wireless, Everything is setup as it supposed to be, all ports are forwarded etc. The server/webpage are running fine and can be accsesd from the internet. But here is my problem, when im logged on the server no one else can logg in, And lets say someone else logg on the server, then i cant login. And when im logged on and check if my server ports are fine, it says it cant reach Port: 7172 So at the moment there can only be 1 player online. So what im wondering is why this is happening, and what can i do to fix this? Any help appreciated Detdu

    I need help about hosting!

    Well since I am a beginner , I am about to try to host my own OT server. I obviously got some problems by starting as most of us does aswell. I am about to make this OT kinda serious, which means that I will try to make it as good as possible and want ALOT of players to play there. But to my problem, and question. Is there any chance that I would host my own OT serv on a normal game-computer if I got fast i-net? (I've heard I can get max 40 players before it will be laggy as h*ll?) I've also heard that I need some sort of a "dedicated server", could anyone explain what I should do? Does it cost alot? What exactly is that? Please help me anyone! All help will be appreciated /Cu!
